The International Scribe Association offers a variety of services to the scribe community as well as those working with scribes.
Education / Training
Medical terminology, anatomy, coding, information technology, medical documentation and ethics are all part of the scribe didactic curriculum delivered in an online environment. Practicums are often arranged thereafter in various specialities whether it be the emergency department, office setting, or the wing of a hospital or other medical facility.
Certification
ISA offers the only medical scribe certification available. Certification designates your qualification to perform the duties of a scribe and assures a minimum knowledge base in the field. There is no medical scribe licensure.
Certification requires passing a course and is offered throughout the year.

ISA membership reveals your commitments to the role of a scribe and provides access to ongoing news and training in the field. Additional benefits include corporate discounts and networking opportunities.
